I Heart Faces - Best Face of 2012 Challenge

A lot has happened in the year plus since I've posted last. Many sessions have come and go, but I got busy with my "real job" and my "new job" of being a mommy to keep up with this blog. But I recently discovered "I Heart Faces"and knew when I saw the latest challenge, I just had to enter Little Miss. My absolute favorite picture I have taken of her will be my entry. She had just started "cooing" and I got her mid-sentence. I love the little details of this photo - all the way down to the bubbles below her lip and the drool just starting to drip off her chin. And of course, her eyes. It may not be technically the best picture I ever took, but it really captured a moment. I may be a bit biased, but this is by far the best face of 2012!

Thanks for your consideration, IHF! Hope I did this right!

And for the rest of you (if there's anyone still left!) - I hope to do a couple of "best of" posts to update a little bit before I get back into the swing of things.

Family Time

It can be awfully difficult to get 5 kids together & smiling, but we definitely took a crack at it. It didn't take long before they were wandering off and getting bored with the camera, so we did some mini individual shots before trying it again. It really is incredible how much better they do in front of a camera when the focus is all on them individually! We ended up getting some really nice shots of all the kids and we squeezed out a couple of group shots as well. They were all sweet kids and I'm glad we got them all to cooperate!

l+m wedding

Okay - finally have a weekend to breathe, so it's back to updating this blog. I was lucky enough to spend a sunny August day photographing Lacey & Mike's wedding. They are a very sweet couple who love to have a good time - which was evident when they broke out the flip cup table at the reception! It was a very traditional wedding and it turned out beautifully ... and I couldn't have captured these special moments without my extra special assistant. My fabulous husband actually got behind the camera a couple of times to help me out during the ceremony and was an extra hand on deck when I needed it! Thanks again to this special couple for letting us share this day with them!
