I was so excited to be asked to photograph this beautiful little girl again! She has the prettiest blue eyes and just a hint of her mother's auburn hair. This time around, we headed to the Kauffman Gardens - just early enough to beat the heat (or so we thought). Despite a hot & muggy morning, a broken lens & a sick little girl, we managed to get some great shots!

The Hodson Family

Goodness, I'm behind on updating my blog. I did a shoot with this fantastic family all the way back in June! You may recognize their feet - almost everyone in this family helped out with our Ronald McDonald House Red Shoe Shindig shoot (say that 10 times fast). It was a lot of fun to meet up with them again, although mother nature almost kept us from accomplishing this family outing. After 3 rain outs, we finally got some sun (albeit a little too much - this has been one hot summer!) and ended up with some lovely family portraits. I hope to be able to set something up with them again in the future!

Kansas Rock Tour 2009

Yes, you read that right - 2009. My husband, his folks, his best friends & I have started to make a yearly trip across our great state of Kansas and I am just now getting around to posting the photos from last year! I may have taken a few ... and to try & edit personal photos when I have other things going on is a bit of a daunting task. But I am proud of what I shot and would love to share it with the world, so enjoy!! Hope you like rocks because we visited quite a few - some are so incredible, you'll have a hard time believing we're in KS!

Okay - so we're starting at the end of our trip & working our way to the beginning. This particular photo is from the Garden of Eden in Lucas, KS. Very odd place, but also very interesting. Unfortunately it was closed because we went on Mother's Day, but that didn't stop us from hopping the fence to take a look around. We just weren't able to check out the creator of this place in his glass encased casket.

The World's (at one point at least) largest ball of Twine in Cawker City, KS - Shirley insisted we bring the cat on our trip with us, so we let her play on the twine for a bit.

This place reminded me of the Wizard of Oz - especially when converted to Sepia tones.

Another disappointment - the Mi Ranchito in Monument, KS was closed.

Castle Rock - in Gove County, KS - the more impressive features were the bluffs right next to it.
